This year brings an exciting change to the Alpine Club North Face Leadership program. For the first time, the course has been split into two types of curriculum, each with a different focus. It will alternate years between the ACC TNF Winter Ski Mountaineering Leadership and the ACC TNF Winter Ski Touring Leadership which will be offered this coming winter in January, 2010.

If you are currently leading trips for the Alpine Club Toronto Section and would be interested in applying for the winter North face course 2010, please go to the link below for more information and an application form. Your application must be endorsed by the Toronto Section Executive and must first be sent to leadership@climbers.org for consideration.

The 5th annual Eagles Nest Ice Climb (Part Deux) with Sleepover option, is Jan. 16 and 17. Stay at the luxurious Imai-Compton cottage (10 mins. from Eagles Nest - it becomes an unofficial ACC 'hut' for the weekend)- $40 for dinner, breakfast and a warm place to sleep. Bring a sleeping bag, towel and your libations of choice.

This long weekend ice climbing and winter mountaineering trip will focus on ice climbing and winter travel skills in the High Peaks mountain setting.

Saturday Rob will lead ice climbing on local crags in the Keene Valley area. Snow shoe options on Daks trails will also be available.

Sunday will be a long day with the objective of The Gothics via the North Face. This project has a lengthy approach followed by multi pitch moderate ice climbing and a long descent back to the trailhead. Rob will determine skill and experience level required to participate on this climb.
