Colorado Feb - March 2008
hi all
i/we are looking for ice climbers to come to Colorado.
The plan is to have a Awesome 2 weeks climbing longer ice routes in Colorado during the date then retreating to the bar for scotch, beer an pizza and climbing chatter in the eve. so far there are 3 climbers going (2 from UK one from Toronto) for the whole 2 weeks so we would like to find at least one more climber to make two teams. 3 other climbers are coming from NY between the 27th and the 4th. if the climbing is poor we can ski. you don't have to come for the full 2 weeks.
Dates 24th feb - 9th march meeting in Denver and driving to telluride ski resort. we are keeping the car for the duration so we can climb in the surrounding area and driving back again on the eve of 8th-9th.
accommodation is a two-room suite with a kitchenette (two burner stove-top, microwave, mini-fridge and coffee maker). The king bedroom bathroom has a jetted tub and shower, and the second bedroom's bathroom has a shower/tub. This unit can be locked off into two seperate units. All rooms include cable TV, mini-fridge, and bathroom with shower.we also get continental breakfast. when sleeping six the price is $47 pppn
so far there are three climbers there for the whole time, myself and two of my partners Iain and Kathryn. there will be three other climbers joining us for a small period of time in the middle. anyone is welcome to drop in for any period of time. if there is no bed you may have to crash on the floor, first come first served.
climbing in the immediate area is longer routes in the mountains between WII 3 and 6. we can drive to Ouray for easier and harder stuff in around an hour and Vail for hard stuff in 2.5 hrs. our aim is to climb mid range multi pitch routes.
We are looking for between 1 and 3 climbers (of any skill level) to join us who share our good climbing and good social ethic however we are going to climb not to teach, grades aren't important to anyone in this group if you only lead 2/3 thats fine as long as you can have fun doing it. If more people want to come then we need to find larger rooms.
anyone is welcome email me and ask questions. the more the merrier
