An old timer from Bon Echo days in 64 to 67.
Just missed the great John Turner and note with interest Kit Moore's article on him.I would love to get a copy.
Arthur Large and I managed to get to the top of the ramp on the joke in 64 and like Turner found nothing in the way of protection there. Probably plenty there now?
I have a copy of a wonderful letter from John Turner to Chris Jones on his exploits in the area.
I will be happy to send a copy to anyone interested.

I have a copy of that letter too, which describes the injury that-dare-not-speaks-its-name.
"The Joke" doesn't get climbed much. I don't know when the last time anyone went up it. (It may be in the 1990s.) And I don't know if anyone has found any more protection. There is a lot of poison ivy on the ramp now.
