Backcountry skiers/boarders/telemarkers
Any backcountry skiers/boarders in Toronto? I am looking for folks in Toronto who:
- would like to practice beacon searches in a place such as High Park or Trinity Bellwoods (when there's snow)
- Are interested in planning some mid-winter trips to places like the Adirondack High Peaks or Quebec mountains north of Montreal or Quebec City
- Also interested in some multi-pitch ice climbs (not too technical) in the Adirondacks coupled with a ski descent
- Prefer huts to winter camping but would be okay with an overnighter or two in the backcountry
Let me know if you're interested in getting together to do some planning. I'm in my thirties but I am used to skiing with a wide age range. I splitboard and get along well with the AT/Telemark crowd because I like my turns nice and tight, can handle steeps and trees, but will take any turns! I put a few weeks per year out west in Roger's Pass, areas north of Golden, BC, and after a few years in Toronto I'm itching to see what the east has to offer.
Get in touch if you're interested in trying out a trip!
Steve
