The North Face Summer Leadership Course 2008

The establishment of the “Gunter Stefan Memorial Leadership Fund” provides the Toronto Section with the unique ability to help the Section to provide/train “Leaders” for future Section Activities. One of the Section’s most popular activities is the “annual” camp in Canada’s western mountains. To make this a safe and successful introduction to mountaineering the Section needs a sufficient number of highly trained, competent mountaineering leaders. To achieve this, provided with generous subsidies from the “Gunter Stefan” Fund, the Section will nominate at least two members to attend the National Alpine Club of Canada’s “The North Face Summer Mountaineering Leadership Course” in the Bugaboo’s/Vowells in August 2008.

All interested Section members should contact Boris Kaschenko, Chair of the Leadership Committee (leadership@climbers.org), and provide a detailed statement of their qualifications/interest in being nominated by the Section to attend the course and their willingness to assist in future Section activities. Applications must be submitted by March 21, 2008.
