Seneca Rock, West Virginia
Seneca Rock
Leave Friday Morning 16 May
Returning Tuesday evening 20 May
Besides the climbing there will also be some hiking going on this weekend . Yes, there will be some non-climbers amongst us, who will take in some of West Virginia's breathtaking mountain scenery with a selection of day hikes. So this is a chance to bring non-climbing partners with.
The drive is 9 hours, camping will be at Seneca Shadows.
Routes are all trad, from 5.7 and up, on very sticky and unpolished rock.
Sonnie Trotter slideshow
The ACC and ACC (Toronto Section) are proud to announce that they are sponsoring a slideshow presentation by Sonnie Trotter. Sonnie will be showing some pictures from his life as a professional climber.
Sonnie is a world-class climber who established Ontario's hardest route, Forever Expired 5.14d, at Lion's Head. He's been profiled in numerous climbing publications and is a contributor to Gripped Magazine.
Snow shoeing, skiing and ice climbing in the Daks
The Adirondaks offer climbing, skiing and snowshoeing opportunities at all levels of difficulty. Plans will include one long day over one of the higher peaks, possibly including sections of moderate angle ice. A second day may be spent on local ice crags.
We hope to have enough participants for two groups, offering a choice of objectives. The "less ambitious" can choose a day of lift-serviced skiing at Whiteface while the "more ambitious" can choose a ten hour forced march mountaineering route with a headlamp return.
