Toronto Section Rocky Mountains Scrambles Camp, Summer 2007

WHERE:
Based at the new Pat Boswell/Toronto Section Cabin and/or the Bell Cabin at the ACC National HQ Site at Canmore.
WHEN:
Monday July 16 to Saturday July 21, 2007
WHAT:
Can be organized to meet participants wants/needs on a daily basis, but the overall “idea” is to provide an introduction to that “grey zone” between Lake Louise style paths and full blown mountaineering. Learn the differences between maps and guidebooks and reality. There are many “trails” but only one leads to the summit. Learn to enjoy and “become one” with Rockies “rock” and enjoy the thrill of fast scree/talus descents. Acclimatize, get those knees unlocked, deal with carrying a pack all day and with losing the car keys.

We can organize “scrambles” of any lengths (6 to 12 hours) and any difficulty, simple to 600m of 5.0 which you also have to descend, solo. There’s the potential for a “beginner” snow/ice school if one was wanted.
